BRITISH LEATHERWORKER IN AUSTIN TX

LEATHERWORKING SINCE 2017
-
I started leatherworking in 2017 in my mum’s garage, back when people started making tutorials and how-to’s on youtube for all these new and old crafts. I needed a truss rod cover for the guitar i’d made and didn’t want to wait around for a bloke to maybe make it- so I bought some leather and figured it out. From there I figured I could make a leather pickguard, so I looked up how to carve, tool, stitch and dove into the sheridan style.

Whilst working on my health, I’m also working on practicing and getting back into my craft after moving to ATX. I’m timing pieces for when I’m ready for commissions, I’m researching design and inspiration (which is involving a lot of old western wear) and I’m increasing the amount I’m creating. Right now I’m trying to surround myself with more creatives, crafters, and people who use n’ love leather items (horse and guitar people I’m comin for you).

I’m aiming to open my shop and commissions this year after a few-year break. I want to get it right though- I need to time my custom work and ready-to-ship pieces so that I can price them accordingly along with making some new items i’ve never offered customs for! I’d also like to try making new and bigger leather items like chaps and tack, after all i’m AM in Texas.
I want to continue documenting my craft with videos and livestreams, ideally making that more regular, I think that’ll come naturally as I get going. I enjoy talking folk through what I’m doing when livestreaming my crafts so there will be more of that!
